Temple Beth Chai of Hauppauge is a Conservative, all-inclusive Synagogue in Suffolk County, Long Island.

We are looking for part-time Religious/Sunday School Teachers for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year, who will bring passion and love of Jewish learning to our youth. We are proud of our Religious School program, which turns out B'nai Mitzvah students who can run much of the service by the time they reach their special day, and who leave with a wide range of knowledge about Judaism. As we continue to grow, we are looking for new teachers to join us in this mission.

Our teachers have the opportunity to work with children of various ages. Our Alef/Bet program includes 1st and 2nd grade students, and meets every Sunday morning. Our 3rd through 7th graders meet twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays after the regular school day. Hebrew reading, prayers and Judaica are the key focuses of the curriculum, and our teachers strive to bring creativity to the lessons in order to keep the students engaged.

With all the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming school year due to Covid-19, we are looking for flexible team members. Classes may be carried out virtually via Zoom, in person in the classroom, or some combination of both. The safety of our students and teachers will always come first.
